Tecumseh hs 40 Lighted Coil condensers role?

#21
I agree too many times I bought engine parts or tore down an engine to see missing paint or bare metal parts.
My plan is to paint the entire block.
Then follow up by painting parts Such as the baffles before applying them.
I don't assume this is the factory way but it's my way.

I'm glad you got it going. we won't really know if the issue was the points or the condenser though (would have to change them singularly and then test.) I've had new points not work because they have a film on them. Personally i just re-face the originals (unless they are a total mess). I mean sometimes you have to pony up and buy new ones. But usually if you just re-face them that works as well (if not better) than new ones. On the condenser though, that you have to get a new one, there's no escaping that...

Yeah I would have loved to pin point the issue.
But I put out the money for the refurbishment.
So I'll just set the old parts aside and check em later.
I like the strong jolt of the fresh components.
Though I won't be using the coil on the block I was testing it on.
I now can say I know how to refurbish a coil.
