Throttle cable hook-up on 6.5 Generator carb

Looking to see if I can get the carb hooked up & working on a 6.5hp generator motor. It seems like it idles really high with this carb & I don't really know if it will work for a mini bike. Also trying to figure out how to hook a cable to the carb.

If you are doing away with the governor this is the throttle setup I use.

If you want to buy a billet rod and billet flywheel. You could get a stock clone throttle setup and hook it up that way. I could even send you one if you pay for shipping. I have like 15 clones sitting around. I think you'd only need to get a cable swivel and then youd be set.


Edit>>>looks like you have a tapered crank on there. You'd need a regular crank or get that on machined but for the price of a new clone crank I'd buy new.

Ok, the stock set-up sounds like the way to go.

Do I need to take the governor out to put that stock set-up?

I turned down the end & put a keyway for it to be a straight shaft. It's shorter than it should be but I will see if it will hold up. Not sure how much abuse it will see, my son may just be easy on it.

No the governor with stay intact.
