Tillotson HL 227A

#1
I've decided to part with my last Tillotson carb.

I started building my own now and just don't see a reason to keep it any more.

HL-277A is an old fellow originally used in a 2 stroke application ( the 125 puma )
Its has been superseded by the HL 304E

This is one of the last ones made in Ohio before the plant shut down and went to Ireland.
Its not the infinite radius types you see today but it still flows comparable to a big carb like the 304.
The metering chamber is vented through the air horn.
These are really the only differences.

It can work in a 4 stroke clone application, but you better have enough engine to pull on it because it can easily outflow a stock size valve engine.
The drill pattern is rich, it can pass more fuel than you need but its not rich enough for pure methanol ( you might wiggle a mix around 50:50 ).
On the flip side its very responsive to the needles and you have no trouble leaning it back for gas.

This is not a put put around the block carb.....
If you want a cheap big carb to build a first drag bike this might be a good place to start.
Does not come with velocity stack or intake, condition is excellent, skins are used but in good shape ready to bolt on.

I think 50 is reasonable, it shows no signs of wear and has little use on it.
Shipping to the USA is about 15 dollars.
