West bend 820 identification

Not really. It looks like it was modified for use on an ultralite. What are the threads on the flywheel side, RH or LH? If they are LH it will have a cw rotation on the pto side and vise versa. Any 820 can be made into what ever model you want with the right parts. All blocks are the same, (port timing, deck height). The difference in models are in the head gasket thickness, the pto configuration, the location of the spark plug (straight or angle). Can you post more pictures? The 820 is still being built so all parts are still available.

That is a cw rotation on the pto. Used cranks are available. You will need a fan shroud, a recoil starter if that's how you want to start it, also a carburetor and cylinder head shroud, if you don't have a doner engine you are probably looking at $150.00 more or less if you do the work yourself. How does the piston look when looking in the exhaust port? Your best source for parts and info is Dave Bonbright in Sonoma, CA 707-938-8122 He is the West Coast West Bend (US Motor now) dealer.

Is there anyway to tell the model number and ccw or cw with the tags missing?

Left hand threads on both ends of the crank are CW (PTO side).

Right hand threads on both ends of the crank are CCW (PTO side).

The last digit of the Model number determines CW or CCW rotation. An even number is CW on the PTO side and an odd number is CCW on the PTO side.

It looks like you have a CW 82054 US military drone engine. They had the cranks cut off on the PTO side.
