Heald Hauler Rebuild

#62
A friend that works at a metal fabrication shop gave me some diamond plate aluminum, that was cut to the wrong size. So I decided to make a new bed.
The new bed will be a little smaller than the old bed. The old bed is 42" x 40",
the new bed will be 40" x 36".

Thank You for the comments.
I got some more work done on the bed. I cut the sides down to 8".
I made some top rails 3/4" channel to give it a finished look.

I don't know if I mentioned what engine I'm using, it's a Predator 420cc.
I made a bracket to hold the plastic choke down, and it also holds the choke cable.

I've been on vacation and haven't much time to work on the Hauler.
Some updates, made a tailgate, and installed a horn.
Seat covers are temporary until I get my big sewing machine fixed.

I had some questions on my throttle setup.

1.Have you had any issue connecting the throttle to the 420cc Predator engine?

2. I heard that it doesn't idle and is hard for the clutch to just idle and not want to move.

3. Did you add a spring to the end of the throttle?

4. Did you have to adjust anything?

1. No, I had to make a bracket for the choke cable.

2. Mine idles fine. did you back out the idle screw?

3. No I used the one that came with the engine.

4. Make sure all the slack is out of the throttle cable.

I hope this helps.
