Mini Baja fork problem

#21
I never took mine down completely.
I just pulled the pistons out and drained the oil.

I used Nuto 46 oil in mine ( tractor hydraulic oil ).
Its thicker but does the same thing as shock oil.

I think you could save yourself a lot of grief by just doing the tried and true second drum on the front mod for your 165.

I know its not very noce to look at but it stops a WHOLE lot faster with the second drum.
Any more stopping power than that seems kind of pointless.
Only a lunatic would try and drive one so fast it requires more stopping power.

See gusset welded in before fuel tank.

This helps but everytime you use that front brake your stressing things never designed to be stressed this way.
Your going to have to watch this like a hawk.
Watch for cracks, watch for loosness in the tree, watch for bearing failure ( these wear out fast if they get loose )

ALSO.
The front brake is hell on the fork tree and frame.
They really are not very strong.
Add some weld to the frame and beef it up of you will get some cracks forming.

Thanks for the input. It's not the run-of-the-mill baja.

I'm just building the bike right now. Nothing crazy. This thing will be gusseted galore by the time I'm done.
