Tillotson 334wx or 304wx for modified gx200

#1
Looking to buy a tillotson 304wx or 334wx, both alky, for my gx 200.
Currents mods:

18cc head, ported, and milled .040"
27mm ss intake, 25mm ss exhaust
26 lb springs
1.2 billet rockers
.275 lift black mamba cam
Arc rod, arc flywheel, billet lifters, cm push rods, etc.
4* timing adv

Tested the gx with my walbro pz22 animal carb on alky, and the gx200 ran well with my current Setup for my stock animal.

Happy to hear any suggestions/changes to the current setup as well.

Thanks

334.

Its hard for these engines to use the full potential of any more carb than that with small valves and not too much lift.

You may get more power out of the 304 at high rpm, but its hard to say.
What could happen is the velocity through the carb will not be high enough to pull on that 304 and tuning could be difficult ( I have too simmilar size gas carbs and the smaller one is more responsive in its prefered power range 3000 to 7500 ).

This is the sort of question a lot of research and testing is needed to answere as well as understanding the limitations of a carb like the 334 or 304 drilled for a clone and where it will opperate.
The HL carbs will make more power and are tuneable on the fly, but your unlikely to get get them to work in as wide an RPM band as the slide carbs

Add to your search/shopping list the methanol HL388B from Burris.
Its very simmilar to the 334 and you may find one used for less if you search for F200 parts.
