Vintage Arco minibike

Marketplace find. Looks like a original survivor except the seat brace and possibly the engine. With the engine fully forward the air filter housing hits the fender. Any information on this one. Thanks

Looks pretty complete, other than missing the fuel tank and the seat being modified to do without the shocks.

On the air cleaner, just unfasten it, rotate it 180-degrees, and reattach. :)
Thanks for the info. Would you have some pics of a stock seat bracket?

Just Google image search “ARCO mini bike seat suspension” and you should see some examples. That said, ARCO built some with the seat just fastened flat to the top of the frame, even though the lower shock mounts were present on the frame. You’ll probably see that configuration in your search as well.

I’d probably not waste any time and effort on that old engine, especially needing such a large repair. You could likely get a better HS40/50 Tecumseh engine off a snowblower or a tiller and be time, money, power, and parts availability ahead. In the end, I don’t think that particular mini is nice or desirable enough to fret too much about engine originality. That said, a newer Tecumseh will look the part just fine.
