Can anyone identify this tank??

This came along with my MTD Columbia, however I know it's not native to those bikes. Wondering if anyone knows what it goes to. It looks similar to some of the Sears bikes I've seen on here. It almost looks like it fits perfect on my MTD with the smaller seat. Of course the mounting screws are specific to some other bike.

I'd love to sell it but sadly it's chock full of surface rust on the inside. I know some have posted ways to remedy this situation.
