Hello all, this may seem like a ut: question, but why do some bikes have a clutch straight to a chain and others have a belt driven converter? I have an idea but ill take all input. Thanks in advance for all answers.
Clutches are cheap but only give you one gear ratio. Torque converters are quite expensive but change the gear ratio with the speed of the engine. They give more torque and top speed, it's like having a CVT transmission on your mini.
Thanks, I thought it might have been a horsepower thing, but I have seen many different combinations. Thanks for the reply. Is this a prefrence thing or is it a affordabilty thing or is it not a thing?
