I am new here, but I thought that I would share a couple pictures of my mini bike that I just finished.
My dad bought pieces of an old Cat 400 mini bike sometime back in the early 70s. It had a lot of the parts, but it was missing some key pieces, like brakes, etc. I wanted to keep some of the original parts on it (like the two-speed comet clutch), but also make it comfortable to ride and a little modern. I have a ton of progress pictures that I can add, but I figured that I would just send a couple of them over.
I had to do a bit of fabrication work to get everything in there, and it still requires touch-up painting, etc. but I rode it for the first time this weekend and it is super fun.
It has an HFT Ghost motor, 2-speed Comet clutch, dual spun aluminum gas tanks (this thing sucks gas), new suspension components, newly upholstered seat, etc.
