I got this 5 hp horizontal shaft B&S that id like to use to replace the 3hp on my CAT 300x. I’m thinking about putting a cam in it. Looking for a relatively aggressive cam but I can still run pump gas and stock carb. I also will be putting in a billet rod for obvious reasons. I’m not going to be racing, But I would like to get some more power out of it. It runs great, almost brand new. Any suggestions?

hmm you could go with a racing carb a header milled head do a port and polish the list goes on

How much power are you trying to make?
Or how fast are you trying to go? and was going?

I recommend a cam, billet rod,springs and a decent carb and manifold. That should get the job done. how much power you want to make?????
