Tecumseh H30 3hp - oil spurting??

Good morning all

I have an H30 tecumseh motor that works ok, but it is spurting oil from the crankcase vent.

I just got the bike not too long ago, and this is the first time I've had it running.

Could it be the oil is overfull??...I ran the bike for a bit longer, it kept spurting out...less as it warmed up, but enough that the oil level seems low now.

What else could cause this?
