idle

Just put together new db30 and the motor wont idle and stalls coming off throttle. Tried adjusting idle screw and running at part choke, but still stalls and has no power. Help!

i finally got my 6.5 running after my incedint with the clutch, and the idle speed is running WAY to high... it idles at around 15mph?? is there a way to fix that or is that how it is?

Hi, Does any one know why when I let off the throttle on my stock DB30 and come to a stop or near stop it stalls out. I've adjusted the idle screw on the carburator and that didn't helpat all. Thanks

I have been messing with it all day. It has the Tecumseh 5HP motor with adjustment screws also. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? Also, is it a complex procedure to remove the governor? What are your thoughts on removing it on this motor?

I decided to make this a post on its own. Hard starting... when you change the air filter and or exhaust, the idle circuit does not create enough vacuum... the solution is to open the idle jet. Where is the idle jet? you ask? its under the throttle set screw... 1 - Take out the throttle...

Help, my 6.5 clone wont idle after sitting for about 2 months. I have the adj. screw 2 1/2 turns from closed and the idle just about 1/4 turn from closed. Is this close to the correct settings?Thanks Richard.

high idle after flat out wot runs. after i run wot for more than like 20 seconds my idle gets high and there is a lot of engine vibration the idle is high enough to make the tav30 want to engage. do the stock carbs have an idle adjustment screw? and what way do i turn it?

Well, I finally started the engine on the MTD build tonight. I can't seem to get the idle lowered though. I checked the slide on the Mikuni and it's bottomed out as it should be. The idle screw is turned out as far as it would go without completely falling out of the carb. It's idliing so high...
