DB30S Doodlebug - How many teeth on the Stock Sprocket

Never mind - I googled gear ratio and found that a 14.5 inch diameter tire with 75 tooth sprocket and 14 teeth on the clutch will give 29 mph top speed. I don't think I'll go that fast, but just trying to avoid uncontrollable wheelies. :-)

DB30S Doodlebug - How many teeth on the Stock Sprocket

Hello, I'm building a DB30S Doodlebug and am wondering if the sprocket is stock on the rear wheel I bought with the minibike. The wheel is stock, and the sprocket has 75 teeth. Is that right? And, if using a Harbor Freight 212 and a 12 tooth clutch, will this work? Thanks!

I got the tubing cut down to 11mm, 18mm and 162mm and they fit PERFECTLY. I had enough tubing for an extra set of rear bushings, if anyone is interested.

I got what seems perfect tubing for bushings: 3/4" OD and 1/2" ID 2' long. http://www.protofab.com/5DOM.html SKU 075122. Kind of steep at $20, but for two feet I can make quite a few bushings with it, and the wall thickness seems perfect for butting up against the inner races of the wheel...

I've heard that the DB30R-165 is equivalent. Can anyone verify? OldMiniBikes has those.

Any ideas on where I can get tubing that I can cut down to make DB30s-178 (rear center bushing - the one that goes between the bearings)? The parts PDF says "DB30S-178 BUSHING F13?F18?162" which I think means 13mm ID x 18mm OD x 162mm length but just guessing.

Eric from OldMiniBikes Warehouse told about the facebook group in Arizona: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1725546034440044/ Lots of helpful people. I'm working with one member now on getting a front fork. Good stuff!

OldMiniBikes Warehouse is where I got found most of the stuff I've ordered. They're out of the ones I mentioned above. It'll take a while for me to be able to start assembling the bike, so maybe they'll be back in stock soon. I'll check back.

I just got a 255mm M12 with 1/25 pitch and we'll see if I can adapt it. Now I need some bushing: DB30s-184 or 203 or 215 (green, yellow and red) right rear wheel bushing. Also the center bushing for the rear wheel part # DB30S-178. I'm not averse to making these if needed, but if I can just...

The info I've gotten here has been very helpful - I'm gathering parts and should have this together within a month or two. One thing I'm having a lot of difficulty finding is the DB30S-175 rear axle bolt, described as "BOLT M12-1.25X245, FLANGE (PT)" in the parts list. I'm going to call some...

Hello. I bought these items about a year or so ago and never got around to learning about them...until now. What changed? I traded an old motorcycle for a running 6.5HP pre-predator Harbor Freight motor and cool old control line airplane. So...as I do research into what I need to put this...

Another Rare bike for the collection

Hi Smallbore, Great write-up. I just bought what turns out to be a Luther Trail Gote/Goat. I noticed you mentioned that yours had the rear springs inside the frame, making it a '62. I was wondering if you could look at mine and give me some idea what year it was from. The title says 62, but...

    NOT a Tote Gote!!!

Actually, your post helped me find it! You mentioned "utility trail bikes", so I searched for that in the forums and found it here: https://www.oldminibikes.com/forum/mini-bike-discussion/98067-OldMiniBikes-terrain-trail-bike-pack-mule-tote-gote-utility-bike-thread-3.html?highlight=utility+trail+bike...

    NOT a Tote Gote!!!

Hi all. New to this forum. I drove about 2 hours today to buy a Model P Tote Gote without an engine and front jack shaft, only to find that the seller had misplaced the bike he was selling (stuff happens, I guess!). However, he had another bike that I spotted that was similar to a Tote Gote. I...
