5 HP L Head Question

I have a nice old Briggs 130252 and it was the type that had the gear reduction system on it. I was wondering a couple things.

Can I crack this case and put in a regular shaft in this?

Would it accept any 5 HP L head type crank?

And....if so, does anyone have a 5 HP crank they would like to get rid of and would accept paypal?

You could just change the crank. You will mot likely have to find a matching side cover. There are a lot of different model cranks out there. Small PTO bearing, large PTO bearing, No bearing, early mag side, late mag side, and the two different crank gears that may have to be swap also.

The best way to do it would be to take your crank out and go to a local lawnmower shop and match it up. That way it won't be any problems.
