I've read conflicting info on the topic so I'll ask here. Is the LO206 a better built engine? Is it built to tighter tolerances? Both are the same price and I'm trying to decide which to get.
I think they are the same quality. The difference is LO206 can be sealed and has rpm limiter. Last year, I blew up an Animal and bought a LO206 short block to repair it, everything was exactly the same.
Go to Briggs website under Briggs Stratton Racing Engines and you can check each motor out. They also have the parts breakdown for the motors. But basicly the Animal is slightly lower compression. Good Luck
