I was recently given a decent 1960's Solex 3800. You know, one of those French made bikes with the motor on top of the front wheel. I can't seem to figure out the engine and it's adjustments. If anyone here has ever worked on one or knows anything about them I could really use some help.
Well, I did figure out how to get it running. I cleaned out the carb and now it runs, but, I have to run it on what I think is half choke. Is there an adjustment on the carb somewhere that I can use to make it run better?
60's 3800 might be Hungarian...check the front for the badge...
you did mix 40:1 ?
the grandmas solex may still be in contact with the front
wheel , push the small lever on the left handle bar
its the compression release and the "kill switch"
The badge says made in France. I found a good site for info on these bikes. They say the gas/oil mix is 50:1. The have all or most of the models made with specs. on each of them.
