arctic ssscat ?

i recently found this mini bike at a junk yard it says artctic ssscat 2356-001 on the frame . i know the engine is not original but cant seem to find out exactly what it is. at first i thought it would be the arctic ssscat ii but this one has a jackshaft . maybe a frankenstein. anyways i would really like to find out what it is exactly it is so i can start restoring it. im new to the mini bike scene but as soon as i sought it i fell in love.any info will help thanks. I don't think so. I believe the II designated it as being a 4 cycle Tecumseh engine as opposed to the Sachs 2 cycle. Yours originally had the Tecumseh. You can see the II on the engine shroud of the pic I posted.

but wouldnt it have a different tank like the one that is joined in the middle and not like the one in your pic

No, The Ssscat was a 1970 model and had that tank. The 71 and 72 models came with the split tanks

o.k so its a 1970 arctic ssscat originally with a 4 cycle Tecumseh. cool thanks for the info. now i got to find the original engine.:thumbsup:

Ssscat II. I believe it was a 4 hp Tecumseh 4 cycle engine.
