B&S Toro push blower-60psi compression

Took it all apart and all seems fine. Piston and rings appear normal. No scoring, just low compression.

What is the spec normal compression on this motor? 130202 model.

These engines have a built in compression release for easy starting so you don't get much compression at cranking speeds. Briggs discourages checking the compression that way, instead they recommend doing a leakdown test which is much more accurate. They don't even publish compression readings in their service literature (they may have in the past though).

So my hard starts are not due to low compression, obviously...Time to clean the carb. Thanks

Did you check to see if the valves are sealing properly/completely? If they do not, there is your low compression and hard starts right there.

Also check your valve lash. Tight valves will kill your compression.
