B200R predator 212 swap question

#1
Can you use the old hardware from the 196 for the 212 or are the bolts a different size or thread pitch? We were putting the clutch back on the new motor and the bolts don’t seem to be the right size. I haven’t seen anything about needing different hardware and am avoiding stripping out the holes trying to rush.
Thanks!

If you are talking about the bolt that goes into the end of the crankshaft, some of them are 5/16 INCH by 24 threads per inch.
Some of them are 8 MM by 1.25 mm per thread.
They are close to the same size, but if you can't screw it in by hand, do not use a tool, because you will strip it.
The same problem can happen with the bolts in the side of the engine.
Get about 5 bolts in each thread pitch and take your time.
Only YOU, the builder can determine which fasteners are needed.
Have fun and be safe.

Not exactly. measure the originals.
Measure from the head to the end, only measure the threaded part. Maybe take an old one with you to Lowe's or local hardware store?
