Most front peg bc1300’s in 67 that I’ve seen had a big block h50, the hs40 bc1300 showed up in 68. Some 68 and even early 69 had h50 also It is rare to see a 1300 with an h35 but I have seen a few.
wouldn't that (h50 powered) be technically be a 1300T?

It would only be a 1300t if it had the 2 speed. The 2 speeds would have a bump out and manual lever on the clutch cover. The 2 speed worked like the HealthKit boonie bike. I know they advertised the 1300t on the front peg models but I can’t recall ever seeing one. Most are regular 1300. Many 1400t midpeg out there. Seems like bonanza didn’t go by the book or the brochures anyway. I’ve seen a lot of original models thrown together with whatever they had on hand. But anyway you can get away with using an h35, hs40 or h50. I personally think they look best with the big block.
