Drag build

#1

Hey, im looking to build a drag motor out of the predator 212. What kind of parts/budget am I looking at? I'd like to be able to hang with the fastest

To hang with the fastest 1 - 2 k . But if you build a 212 that big it won't last . Start with a Honda block , crank , and side cover .

Yep for safety and a little more power its well worth it. If you get a ARC flywheel the timing is already built in to the flywheel. Flywheel, rod (ARC billet) cam, springs , af adapter and a header....then you can remove the govenor and turn that engine up !

dont take my reply the wrong way ... in your original post you said you want to hang with the fastest ... $250/$300 will get you a flywhell , rod , springs and cam .. and that is a mild build ... but david is right real hp out of one of these comes with a price tag of over a grand

Really?

FlyWheel
Billet Rod
Cam
Springs
timing

Is that worth 300?
To put this all in perspective. I have all of this plus a bigger carb. And I'm still 20mph slower than everybody else ! And I started off with a big block with 16hp stock.
