Effective way to reduce torque with 6.5hp

#1
I am looking to slightly reduce/delay the initial torque after putting in the 6.5hp HF motor. Would swapping the rear sprocket to a lower tooth count be sufficient?

I am running a max-torque clutch.

I weigh 170 lbs.

dont know why you would want to except for a younger rider.

yes putting a reduced gear sprocket will slow the take off some, but add to top end. if you dont want a kid to fall off on take off, im sure you dont want them to fall off at full speed.

what is your gear ratio now?

I adjusted my throttle cable today some and took care of it. Apparently it was going WOT right away instead of a slow increase. These things are too much fun.
