Nope it can be done but I wouldn't use a predator piston . Probably a wiseco ... And you will need bracing on the outside of the block

I saw a 173 clone like that somewhere....
Its not a difficult trick at all, the Chinese clone GXV160 at 70mm bore is a pumped to make a bit more power for the lawn mower industry.

Its hard to be sure if your liner will bore the extra 2mm to get to 70 though, this is why most of the early 70 - 72 mm big bore kits were done with a liner ( now people just buy the 70 series block and build off that )

If you liner will bore that large you can use a Predator piston and a +.020 billet rod.
The cheapest build....

Will you need a Girdle?
Depends on how much power the engine makes.
Reality is your short stroke will bottleneck the amount of power the engine can actually make ( top plate and some simple flat plate bracing is minimum required ).

In my opinion unless your racing a stock appearing class that requires a 160 block its not worth building this.

very strange stuff out there if you look hard.
