Has any one tried Dual Carbs on a clone?

I have seen old pictures of Briggs & Tecs with dual carbs, perhaps for show but Has any one tried Dual Carbs on a clone?

Correct, I remember very well. For some reason Charles had a problem with tuning the twin carburetors on that machine. He never tryed again, as far as I know?

I would imagine with the vacume signal of a single cylinder engine tuning would be a real pane in the butt.

The carbs where gas carbs, I couldn't get it to tune correctly.
I think I could have got it to work on alky though, but never tried it.

A FB friend from the UK told me a buddy of his had added a turbo type of the device to one of these types of engines..... :thumbsup:

Tillotson used to make a pair of dual carbs specific to each other.
This was called a master slave....
The two carbs were connected on a progressive linkgae and the master was a smaller HL with the slave a larger HR ( maybe HD not sure been a long time ).

You could tune these fairly easy because of the progressive linkage.
You tuned often though because it was sensative.

Not sure what you could do on a smaller scale.
Maybe a Little 5/8 ventury and a larger 7/8 or 1 inch on a progressive would work.
