Help with chinese motor (Honda Clone)

#1
Hi guys, new to this forum. Just purchased a used Hensim 124cc motor (looks like Honda 90). Before I try to start this thing up, I need to know if I need to put oil in the stator chamber? There is a fill cap at top, but when I opened it up to install a starter motor, there was no sign of oil ever being there. I was told it had three speeds and a reverse. Anybody know any thing about these little motors? Your help is greatly appreciated. Cyclebender

A photo would help, but holes in the left side cover will typically only expose a hex drive on the end of the crankshaft that you can use to turn the engine over to set the valve adjustments, or expose timing marks stamped into the outer edge of rotor. You don't normally need to put oil into those holes. An engine like that should only need oil put into the hole on the right side clutch cover. If it's a Honda 90 clone, ask your local Honda dealer to be sure.
