Hs35/40 points

My some picked up a few old mini bikes this one is rough but complete. I’m trying to see where it’s at, if it will run. Flywheel cover was off but came with it.
I don’t really think it is the original to this engine or bike but I’m not sure.

bike is a stellar mark 1. Has a small tecumseh, cover says hs40.

is it missing the condenser?
And what is this blue thing on the cover?

That "blue thing" is an aftermarket electronic ignition part. The photos below are front and back of a NOS kit that I picked up at a flea market a couple of years ago. I've never used one of these, I stick with the stock points/condenser set ups.

Being that the points are still there, that blue part was not being used on this engine right?

I would remove the blue part and add a condenser.
