Helping a buddy out with his lawn tractor. Im replacing the connecting rod and I cant find the torque specs for the crankcase cover, connecting rod and head bolts. Does anyone have access to the service manual (TM103419).
Any help would be gratefully appreciated, thanks. Tommy.

Its a LA115 with Briggs $ Stratton 19.5hp
Model 31P677
Type 0144-B3
Code 100318ZD

Ok, looked up the specs in my manual. Head bolts are 220 inch pounds;rod bolts are 150 inch pounds and the crankcase bolts are dependent on what type bolts you have. If they look like regular bolts fully threaded and use a regular lock washer torque them to 140 inch pounds. If they taper down at the end of the bolt(called dog point) torque it to 200 inch pounds. Make sure you put a little sealant on the bolts just short of the tip. Good Luck
Note make sure your valve lash is set correctly. Intake is .003-.005 and exhaust is .005-.007!

Awesome, thanks bill. Head gasket arrived in a soft envelope and is unusable. Surprised they (Mowtownusa) didn't use cardboard to protect it.

Bill, do the rod bolts call for any thread lock? Considering using a dab of the blue for extra measure since this motor failed due to loose end cap bolts with only 44hrs on the clock.
