They've been around since about 1950. Supplied original equipment magnetos on many engines, Kohler, Cushman, Clinton, etc. Competed with Wico for the original equipment market, were sold under the REPCO name for a while. Briggs and other manufacturers went to making their own ignitions. Phelon is just about the only magneto ignition maker left out there. They're mostly into electronic ignition today, since that's the state of the art systems.
