Mini Mate or Lil' Indian?

Recent find, and I'm just curious to see what it is, and what year. Not that it matters, but...

I did some reading, and the brothers did a little back & forth with some of the models.
No split in the head tube, so not a fully 2-piece frame.
Solid-mount pegs, stubby buggers.
Engine of unknown origin (Vert shaft Briggs shroud/pull)
Handlebars are part of and in-line with forks. Cozy, at best.
Looks to be un-bushed steering stem.
No sign of brakes.

That is a Minimate. Yours has the springer front end...but the pegs are a dead give away.

Now to figure out what the engine is, or what it "should" have.
It's kinda cramped for me, so it will likely find a new home any way.
