if you're on pavement that Hodaka bike is fine, unless you hit a sewer cap or a curb, then you're dead, over the bars. but who runs on pavement? woosies.... that's who! ha! there's no rake in that front end. it must handle off-road like crap, begging for a bent front end, and your early demise.

I like Rupps but I do remember getting my ass handed to me by a guy with a Hodaka Bonanza in about 1972.
I sold my Roadster and got a Super Rat.

Super Rat is cool. Like a small dirt bike. I replaced my pogo stick stock Rupp front suspension with one of these

What did you do about the huge pivot? Didn't your Rupp have a 5/8 bolt in it?
I am thinking about a similar project.

It will toss you like a bad salad. Too many Hodaka powered Bonanza's had high speed forks.

I am thinking about a similar project.

I used a BMX pig headset with an 1 inch to 1.25 adapter. I tried to use a custom machine shop headset which was aluminum and it bound up. The pig headset works great

For me, they're better, since I have several Rupps and can take a different one for a ride every day.

Can't do that with a wife or girlfriend!
