need ID for late 70's yamaha mini bike

hey folks

trying to find out the specific model of the bike. i bought it thinking it was a 1971 mini enduro 80, but now i'm not sure

the bike is in peices, and the guy put a quad rear end on it (why!!!)

anyway

So do I get any awards for correct Googleing? :laugh: I also found that the serial number system (before they switched to 17 digits) was different for Yamahas sold in Canada from those sold in the US.

yup. looks like the gas tank and seat are randoms - and all the bells and whitles, lights, airbox, fenders, etc.. are gonzo. but the engine turns by hand, and everything else seems to be there. i have a 78 CT90 thats getting attentiopn first, then this will get dived into!

LOL, I'm on the board! :laugh: Thank you Google! Good luck restoring this. It appears there are a lot of fans of this bike, so you should be able to find parts.

unbelievable. the internet was WRONG!!!!

i was told that all parts were out of circulation --- but my LOCAL Yamaha dealer actually has piston rings for a 1980 DT50G in stock. :bowdown:
