New member here from NJ with my first minibike that I found through craigslist ($100.00). The past couple months I have been keeping myself occupied with a couple new hobbies (small engines, minibikes, go karts). Finally found something worth putting my time into. Love this forum and the ideas I've gotten from here have fueled my interest big time.
Anyways, here she is, the first project minibike. Anyone have any clue as to what brand it is? No idea what is original on this!
Came with a Briggs flathead model 130202-1714-01. Back of gas tank indicates "stand on wheel when starting".
Tires are: Front 4.10/3.50-4, Rear 4.10-4NHS
I could not find any identifying markings at this time.
These photos are from a basic mock-up of what I've been messing around with.
I replaced the first engine due to carb issues with another strong Briggs flathead (came from an old go-kart). For the second donor engine I did a carb rebuild kit and had it running but the fuel tank was going south. After browsing some projects here on the forum I decided to go with a Briggs intake manifold, Tecumseh H70 carb, small 2 quart fuel tank, and of course black pipe for temporary exhaust. It runs and sounds awesome.
Please disregard the zip ties and the wood for the seating arrangement. Everything in these photos is mock-up only. Nothing has been permanently mounted on the frame, nothing cut/drilled/welded.
Anyway, thanks for looking. I need help on wheels & tire selection. I ordered a new throttle and brake kit, as well as an air filter and adapter from OldMiniBikes Warehouse!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
