oil

If it's 100 degrees outside and your doing a lot of work with the engine, I wouldn't use 0-20. If it's -25 degrees outside, don't put in 20-50. Other wise you can pretty much use what you want and shouldn't have a problem.

i would use SAE 30 oil in the summer time, this is what came stock & what should be in the motor, its for air cooled motor's.. Briggs oil is SAE 30..

It really depends on the climate. I like to run the thinnest oil possible without pressure loss. Obviously there is no pressure in a flat head, but it uses a slinger. If it's cold where you are, I would run a 10w-30. Im running Rosella 5w-40 synthetic in my clone in the cold. Starts easier and runs fantastic.
