Power Racing Series / Maker Faire / Sept 20-21st

I had stopped into OldMiniBikes and they suggested I post some info on the electric racing series I'm building a car for. It's called the "Power Racing Series" and essentially we modify kids' PowerWheels and race them.

Basic rules:
1. Must start with a kids toy
2. $500 limit
3. No more than 36V to the motor

Some videos if you're interested in checking it out:

Their home page with rules:

The next race is at Maker Faire in NYC. Maker Faire is something to check out in and of itself:

It's a ton of fun.

Looks like a blast. I remember getting a P/W out of the trash.

Put the battery charger on it & it worked. So all I had to do was get a battery.

It was a 6V system, and being cheap, I got a 12v motorbike battery. ( it cost less than a P/W battery )

Little did I know, that this would make it go faster just because it was 12V and not 6V. LOL

The kid had a blast until outgrown, then I gave it to someone else with kids.

Looks like a great fun sport..
