Okay, after church today, I went out and started tinkering around. I actually found out that the Generac engine is a 7.8 hp and not 7.5, but no big deal. Anyway, I cut out the pressure washer engine mounting plate and then using it as a template, I drilled new holes in the Doodle Bug plate and mounted the Generac. I'm not sure if I have the geometry exact, so I cut slots in the plate so I can move the engine in or out. Now, I guess I need to find a 3/4 clutch. Anyone have an old one that's shot that you'd want to donate before I buy a new one? I'd like to try it and make sure that everything is going to line up before I bite the bullet and then find out it's not going to work. My new tires SHOULD be here tomorrow. I just wonder how much of a pain it's going to be to remove the old ones and put the new ones on. I might wind up taking them to the shop where I buy tires. Ramon is a good dude and will probably do it for a $10 bill. If not, I'm sure a $20 will do it. Getting excited about this ride, fellas. After I get it all back together, I'll get a shot of it and show you. I'm going to have to remote mount a gas tank and think I'll just use the one off the 3.5 as a temporary until I know everything will work. Let me know if you have a clutch to donate. I'll be happy to pay the shipping.
