just noticed there's a go kart section on here!
so ive seen some kewl radio flyer karts and decided I wanted to build one. got a RF wagon off CL for $25, and out of a moped deal I scored a 6.5hp Honda side shaft engine w/clutch. SO I just needed a frame/steering/wheels/controls...etc
Started looking into it and was blown away with how expensive everything was... so I changed my sites to our favorite place, craigslist, to find a roller. Picked up this roller for $155
it was a LOT bigger than I thought. not sure exactly how im going to mount the radio flyer body, but i'll figure it out.
Got this all before my deployment, i'll be back in January though and hoping to have it finished by spring time. The rear drive is kinda odd, not sure if it's a solid axle or if it's just 1 wheel drive. looks like it was belt drive whenever the OG engine was on it. if that's the case i'll be putting a solid axle on it with a good sized sprocket. I'd like the Honda engine to be able to move me around 35mph or so, which should be easily do able.
Thoughts? at the moment I have under $200 in this all
