I've made great progress fixing the glass and am starting to eyeball the frame. I tried a small section on the frame using truck bedliner and it looks great! What do you guys think? Would it be a crime not to strip and powder coat the frame? Also thinking about using bedliner on the underside of the body. Man, these things had some weak glass work (at least mine did). I'd like to hear your opinions. Thanks

I wouldn't think it's a crime,,that spray on bedliner is da bomb. But if you have any loose flaking paint those areas would require clean-up b-4 spraying (frame). As for "undercoating" the body with it,,sounds like a great idea! I bet that would hold up for years and provide a solid underside.
Keep us posted:thumbsup:

Take a look at this thread under "more than two wheels" "Alsport RTS Body parts" looks as though someone has coated their whole body in bed liner! There's pics posted from Grumpit showing his.

Yeah, I saw that, but I don't want to go that far. I'll still do a nice base/clear on the body. I finally got miine in primer this weekend, now to start blocking.

Bump

Can anyone tell me what kind of clearance there is for the cables going into the body by the steering column? Was there a slot, a separate hole, etc. Mine was so hacked up I couldn't tell what it was supposed to look like. See attached pics.

Any ideas? Was it just a larger hole that the steering shaft and all 3 cables fit through? I'm about ready to paint and this is all I need to know to finish the body. I'm trying to make it look factory, but I don't know what that was.

Thanks!

Hey guys. Im brand new to this forum. I have been hanging on to an old go joe for about 18 years now. I had no idea what I had t'ill about 2 years ago. I actually even almost cut the long nose off when I was a kid. It has the Kohler engine, but the reason im writing here is because you guys are talking about red and white models. Mine is green. Kind of looks like a faded nasty john deere green. Looks to be the original color too. Anyone know anything about this? I am constantly debating about restoring it or selling it. The axle was changed out to a solid axle. Does anyone know where I could find an original? Or should I stick with the solid axle? Thanks for the help.

Thanks Rupp 72. You would think at some point when sanding the fiberglass or even where there are cracks there would be evidence of some white?? I dont recall seeing any. But I will check tonight.
