Good observation, the engine appears to be original. I am posting a pic of the engine tag. It matches a 1968 sears spyder.

Also pics of the bike appears in the sears section under the media tab. These pics were apparently uploaded by the moderator via the ebay listing I bought the bike from. Another pic was posted by Marcus in a recent posting regarding sears chain guards.

Just a little "Provenance" as they say in auction speak.
