Tecumseh breather installation?

#1
Hi, Not sure if it matters but hopefully will finally clear up something I've been wondering about for some time. Is the green filter installed over the holes inside the breather housing and what side does the cover with hole & tube go? I've had engines with them installed both ways and why confused. Hard to tell in parts diagrams.
Thanks full.png

The cupped metal insert goes in first with a gasket placed behind. Then the green scotch brite pad lol goes in the cupped recess, another gasket and finally the cover with the tube pointed downward.

Hope this helps and thanks for posting photos.

Thanks for reply. I wanted to know more specifically about if the green filter covers the holes inside breather body and if the cover with hole & tube is directly in front of the holes / filter? Like I mentioned in OP when I've taken engines apart I've seen it both ways so figured it may not matter. To be more clear I've seen tube & green filter opposite the side of body holes.

I do know the housing body has small hole that must be facing down for oil to drain back into crankcase.

Thanks again

There’s truly amazing stuff in a Tecumseh service manual…but I guess you’re too good to need one?!?

Of course I saw that in the manual! I was asking because I've had some engines that it was installed both ways. Even on engines that looked like they were never worked on.

By the way you seem very hostile for some reason, not only this post but others of mine. Please just "Skipp" over my posts from now on. I didn't pay for membership to this forum for your bullshit!

LOL, Beautiful!! Ask away about anything mini bike. Hey, I might even have an answer. Some guys do lots of research and work, they write it down and share it with their group(s) which is very very cool. Some guys expect us to spend hours reading through this stuff trying to find the answer to a question that may be simple to them. The manuals aren't always clear either. I've been looking for info on the Tec OHV idle adjustment,no luck

Funny that actual members have to explain themselves to other members about what constitutes bullshit but those posting actual bullshit under the guise of "New Member" every other day go mysteriously unchallenged by the otherwise usual loudmouths.

The ignore feature on this forum works great! Didn't know how it works but unfortunately had to use it. FYI it removes all the posts from another member you add. Never having to hear their bullshit again:)
Works great to block assholes that want to police this forum insulting other members with nonsense & profanity!
Hopefully you will never have to use it but good to know it's there.
