Me again everyone,Just try to see which way I`m going to go with my warrior..should i get a Tecumseh or preditor? Which ever motor i get will be out of the box for sure..will be either an 8 or 10hp..I`m guessing..

I like Tecumseh motors, but the Predators are going to be ideal from a cost and parts availability standpoint. There are much more aftermarket performance parts available for the Predator motors than for Tecumseh motors.

I was reading a thread that the new HEMI predator engines make closer to 8HP than 6.5. I have a stage 1 non hemi on a Trailblazer with a TAV and it is super fast. Then I have a stock Hemi on another Trail blazer with a traditional clutch sprocket and it is fast too. Cant beat the Predator engine. Plus you can use the 20 or 25% off coupons!!

I would go with a Tecumseh hm80 or hm100 (8 or 10hp flathead). they have tons of torque and are extremely reliable and there are a few upgrade parts made for them. also if you buy one used (the only option now) they can be had as cheep or cheaper than the predator.

HM100
Tecumseh 10hp Electric Start Engine Like-New (Model HM100)

Predator 212
6.5 HP (212cc) OHV Horizontal Shaft Gas Engine EPA

Stage 1 kit
Predator 212cc Mini Bike Kit - Stage 1 - Hemi

HM100 is nice, especially with electric start. Might be a tad big in a smaller minibike. The Pred with the 20% off coupon at full price is $96.00 plus tax. Most of the time i get them when they are $99 and then 20% off which is $80 plus tax. You might have to go to a few HF's to find a Hemi engine and a clerk that will let you get the 99$ and the coupon price.

So in NJ the last hemi was $85.60 plus a stage one Kit for $90. $175 with a brand new engine that is close to 10HP.

Im not saying it is any better than the Tecumseh, I am playing devils advocate. It might be harder to find a nice used TEC engine that doesn't already need a repair. Brand new TEC engines even in the 7HP range are close to or over $200.00. Im basing my answers on price and availability of aftermarket stuff.
