Throttle cable length?

#1
I have a clone/Mikuni setup. I don’t know how to determine where to solder the nipple on the carburetor end. The throttle cable has a barrel end on the twist grip end. The other end is where I need to determine where the nipple goes to control the slide.

Just far enough so the slide can rest at bottom when twist throttle isn't being twisted. I've heard a rule of thumb is 2 inches but it also depends on any fittings built into your carb cap and what distance they add to your length of bare cable. You have to do some math and figuring, in my experience.

What you described sounds reasonable. It gives me a good idea how to proceed. Measure twice cut once, type of thing. Thanks I’ll do some math figuring.

I do have an adjustment fitting on the twist grip none on the carburetor. So if I’m thinking right I can make the cable a little long and fine adjust it with the grip fitting. Thanks for pointing that out for me.
