kill

The engine is about 6 months old. It gets fire to the plug and the gas is going to carb so i figure its the on/off wiring on motor that is connected to kill switch but I am not sure. Has anyone had this happen to them? Any suggestions?

What am i missing here? The chrome button part is spring loaded and springs back nicely. But the part that the wire goes into sits directly on the handlebar and does not ground out. Is there another spring missing? It was on my 69 roadster. Help! Thanks.
