Painted over... Looks like it was maybe originally green. I'll scrape a bit off and see if it's still legible...

If it was originally green, its probably a R3001.

The year can be deciphered from them. The first 2 digits are the year. Except the first year of production, in which case it started with a 9 (IE: 69')
