Hey Folks, Thought this might should go in the B&S thread, but it has more than two wheels ! Went out today to try to blow some leaves around, and cut some tall weeds with my riding mower.... The 15.5 hp B&S motor on our Poulan riding mower - was turning over fine, but was backfiring...

so i got a new crank for the tecumseh i messed up..... :thumbsup: i cleaned it all up and decided to upgrade the points to a sten's electronic ignition. after the first run the flywheel key sheared in a massive backfire that almost hit me in the face..... and i know i need a gas cap...

Hello, I just put a honda clone motor on my doodlebeast. Please excuse my ignorance, but it is backfiring, and I was wondering what is the first thing I should check to fix this problem? :shrug: Motor is brand new out of box. thanks!
