endplay

What is a max amount of crank endplay on a hemi when cold? Thanks

I have a H35-45671W and it feels like it has to much crankshaft endplay. I can push and pull the shaft in and out and feel like quite a bit of play. What is the specs? How can I fix this? Thicker gasket? Thanks

My 5.5 ohv briggs is running fine but I went to grease the clutch bushing and noticed some end play on the crankshaft it is pretty noticeable and is the clunking noise I hear from time to time! I dont generally open small engine cases but need to start! I can't afford shop rates in this economy...
