Scored this today. 1.5 horse power. May be my oldest one yet.( I never check my old big bastard.) Is neat.

The old timer had someone look it up. I'm taking his word for it..... for now. I already dropped it off at home.

Just noticed... it has the same valve clearance as the my land cruisers. Well real close....

briggs model N, I have a lawn mower with a briggs model NPR6. Which is the same engine with a gear reduction on it.

I have an old Briggs pretty much like that on a WWII gen set. It was hung on the side of Jeeps to charge batteries on the battle field and elsewhere. At least that's what I think it was used for. I need to get it running one day. Nice find you have there.

Try an old 5s on for size. It's horribly underwhelming (as cool as those tiny little engines are).
