When I realized my Briggs tank was shot... I too took that route - after he made that video.
Much easier and cheaper to tune with thAt carb on- after I did a P&p.

briggs carbs are impossible to keep consistent. and the tanks are for shit. I have been thinking about making a number of those adapters for myself and enough to sell some as well. sounds like maybe there is enough interest to be worth it past the 5 briggs i want to re-carb

So do you need the Briggs Animal 555545 Carburetor Spacer to run the carbs used on the Tecumseh 5-7hp on your briggs flathead 5hp? Seems like there is a lot of Animal manifolds out there to choose from.

I made my own from using 1/8" and/or 1/4" steel plate and traced pattern using gaskets as templates. I used 3/4" and/or 7/8" tubing to connect my flanges.

I also talked to the guy at Kart Pipes - Home and he said he could make them...
