Bowl on Tecumseh Carb question

I have a HS40 motor that has a little tiny spring push type button on the bottom of carb bowl. At first I thought it was a primer type button. However, when you push it gas flows out. So maybe it is there just to empty the gas from bowl when tank is shut off.

Regardless, I thought I read on here you can remove from the bottom of bowl and replace with a rubber type plug.

Is that true? Is there a link to this type of stopper?
any help would be great!

Yes, it's there to drain the bowl. Carb kits come with the new o ring and spring for that little drain. I suppose one could use a small screw and nut and sandwhich rubber between them to stop it up. Probably easier to get a rebuild kit, or find another Tec bowl without the drain.

Thanks for the post. It's still in good shape. so I will leave it and replace bowl when it starts to leak.

that is the better bowl to have . you dont have to pull it off to clear water out of the carb or if you want to drain it .
